A beautiful day in the neighborhood.  After a week or so of rain in area, it was clear and sunny, a bit warm but a good day for a hamfest.  There was a good turn out and lots of goodies were up for grabs.

The Boy Scouts were busy selling coffee and doughnuts, as usual and did a fine job, indeed.

  
The  grand prize winner doesnt have a radio call yet and must be the luckiest guy in the world.  Dan Pinda took his first ham radio test this morning.  I was told he aced it.  And then, on the way out, he bought 7 tickets for $10 and turned out winning the top two prizes...an ICOM IC-7100, and a Connect Systems CS800D 2-Meter/440 DMR Mobile radio. That should give him a boost to get him active in ham radio and itching to upgrade to General, for sure! Congratulations, Dan!  
 
The VEC folks were out in force and tested several and WA1BZQ - Bruce (on right) thinks they came up with seven new hams.  Good job!
